OakRiver Technology DL1000: the new standard in coating performance measurement

OakRiver Technology introduces the DL1000 Durability and Lubricity Tester to provide state of the art performance testing of lubricious coatings on medical devices. The DL1000 was designed to meet the high standards of medical device manufacturers requiring a test platform with stable and NIST-traceable calibration, active measurement of part tensile and gripper forces, and CFR 21 Part 11 compliant software. Additional highlights include PC-based controls, touch-screen HMI, tool-free calibration and gripper pad replacement.

The DL1000 was designed with validation and flexibility in mind. Using advanced software with protected access, the system actively monitors the tensile forces of the part as well as the perpendicular compression force applied by the gripper pads. This provides a true characterization of friction through the measurement of forces over various lengths and surface geometry. Flexible features include interchangeable part fixture options, a tension/compression load cell and optional gripper pad configurations.

OakRiver Technology's DL1000 expands its line of medical device coating equipment, which includes the DC100 Medical Device Coater launched in 2007. Together, they raise the bar in the application and performance testing of lubricous coatings.
